Man dies after hit by log from logging truck

A man was killed Thursday afternoon after he was hit in the head by a log that rolled off a logging truck at a Dubuque lumber company, officials said.Authorities were called to the accident at 2:50 p.m. at Sitco Inc., 10492 Highway 52 South.The man, identified as 54-year-old James Schlarman of Dubuque, was loosening a chain holding the logs to the trailer, when one rolled off and hit him, the ......
